Manhattan-Based Investment Company

Silverlode secured incentives to redevelop a manufacturing facility into an economic development engine.

Manhattan-Based Investment Company

Opportunity:

A Manhattan-based investment company purchased a 75-year-old Ohio television tube manufacturing facility, which had been a community anchor employing over 1,000 people. When the television market moved from glass tubes to flat screens, the company folded and the community suffered economic decline. Silverlode was engaged to secure incentives to redevelop the facility as an economic engine for the community.

Solution:

We assembled a package of grant funds to allow the environmental remediation of the 45- acre property and to redevelop the building for multi-tenant use. Silverlode identified the Ohio Job Ready Sites Program (which no longer exists) as a grant opportunity, and crafted a compelling and highly detailed application for the competitive program. As a result, the client was awarded a $5 million grant to renovate the facility with building repairs, utility and system upgrades, landscaping, new ingresses and egresses, and other improvements to develop a modern, multi tenant space. The building was quickly re-tenanted into warehousing, call center, retail, and office uses.
