Silverlode delivered a high quality Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy for a two-state region.
The Regional Growth Partnership (RGP) was working with the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) to unite four counties across two states as the Northwest Ohio/Southeast Michigan Region. The RGP engaged Silverlode to prepare a Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) for this region to enable access to federal funding opportunities.
Silverlode initiated an in-depth community engagement process which included dozens of stakeholder interviews, group discussions, and a public survey. Silverlode conducted a regional background assessment, an analysis of location factors, and a SWOT analysis. Silverlode's CEDS methodology includes the development of a target industry study (not required by the EDA) to identify industry sectors that would strengthen and diversify the region’s economic base. This study also identified key competitive and emerging industry sectors within the Northwest Ohio/Southeast Michigan region.
We developed short and long-term economic and community development objectives, outlined action steps, and created a prioritized methodology for proposed capital projects in the region.
