Silverlode's impact studies enable Baystate Health to quantify and communicate their tremendous community impact.
Economic Impact Analysis
Baystate Health, the largest health care organization in western Massachusetts, has engaged Silverlode multiple times to estimate the system’s economic and fiscal impacts. The purpose of the studies was to effectively communicate Baystate’s impact to the Commonwealth legislature, Baystate employees, partners, and the general public.
Silverlode estimated the impact of Baystate’s operations and construction activities on the State, region, counties, and several cities. In addition to modeling the impacts of the system as a whole, Silverlode estimated the impacts of several Baystate facilities individually. To help shape the report, Silverlode conducted interviews with more than 30 members of Baystate’s leadership team. To illustrate the geographic breadth of Baystate’s facilities, jobs, patients, purchasing, and economic impact, the deliverable included numerous GIS maps. The deliverable also included sections on community health, workforce development, education, and other non-quantifiable, yet critical ways that Baystate impacts Massachusetts communities.
Baystate used Silverlode's studies to concisely and effectively communicate the impact of the health system to the community, government entities, and other stakeholders.
