Silverlode conducted a simulated site selection and improved the business attraction efforts of nine counties in South Carolina.
Economic Development Services
The North Eastern Strategic Alliance (NESA) is a nine-county regional economic development organization in South Carolina. NESA wanted to assess the economic development readiness of the member counties and to test individual communities' ability to respond to site selection inquiries. Silverlode was engaged by NESA to conduct a simulated site selection.
Silverlode developed and distributed two hypothetical site selection Requests for Information (RFI) to the nine counties to test their ability to respond to inquiries. We summarized our findings in a report which analyzed the economic development readiness, location factors, and website content of each county. Silverlode's report included actionable recommendations on the collection, relevance, and presentation of community data as well as strategies for coordinating response efforts and improving responses (such as highlighting local assets and strategically addressing shortcomings). Silverlode's work elevated the individual counties' ability to respond to business inquiries and increased the region's likelihood of success.
