Silverlode's benchmarking study led to a change in Missouri's state incentives policies and improved economic development efforts at state and local levels.
Economic Development Services
The St. Louis Regional Chamber and Growth Association (RCGA) sought to enhance Missouri's incentive offerings so that the RCGA could more effectively attract and retain jobs and investment in St. Louis. Silverlode was engaged to complete a tax and incentive benchmarking study to facilitate the improvement of Missouri's competitiveness.
Silverlode assessed the economic incentive programs offered by several states with which Missouri typically competes. Our benchmarking analysis report identified best practices for a number of incentive types, including business attraction and job creation, workforce training, and job retention. The research delineated which areas of Missouri's incentives programs were consistent with best practices, and which programs fell short.
Silverlode's study equipped the RCGA with data needed to make recommendations to state officials on how to improve the incentives programs and was instrumental in changing state policy to grow jobs and investment.
